The University of West Florida Argonauts – also known as the Fighting Snails – compete in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference.

University of West Florida admissions is selective with an acceptance rate of 58%. Half the applicants admitted to University of West Florida have an SAT score between 1060 and 1235 or an ACT score of 22 and 27. However, one quarter of admitted applicants achieved scores above these ranges and one quarter scored below these ranges.
